NOTES
Additional Information:Between 1880 and 1900 this was the location of the Alex Hardie grocery. It was the office of Dr. Charles Habhegger in the 1920s, as well. This building has some historical interest as the location of a grocery and doctor's offices. None are individually significant, but the building contributes to the overall development of commerce in the Main Street Commercial historic district. Built as early as the 1860s, probably for John Jung and used later as the Hardie Grocery Store, this gable roofed frame building was brick veneered and more recently stuccoed on the exterior. A shed roofed extension on the south side has given the building an asymmetrical appearance. Now a vacant building, the windows and doors characterized by wooden lintels and sills have been filled with wood panels. Two one-story stuccoed additions are located on the north side. The John Jung Building has suffered extensive and unsympathetic alterations of its architectural character. Because of the extensive alteration of its historic character, this building does not contribute to the Main Street Historic District.
