NOTES
Additional Information:Large brackets in gable ends; inset porch with Tuscan columns placed on porch rail; wooden shed roofed dormers; window cornices; south side bay window; rear addition.

This was the home of Christian Dauffenbach, a hostler, in c. 1913; it was the home of John Dauffenbach, a railroad baggageman, between c. 1919 and c. 1930.

Initial research indicates that none of the occupants of this house are historically significant either individually, or as a group within the proposed historic district.

A variation of the Bungalow style exhibiting a Swiss Chalet appearance, the Dauffenbach bungalow is important to the architectural environment of the city because it adds to the variety and as a result contributes to the quality of life in Watertown.
