| Additional Information: | Wooden pediment shaped window heads on west gable; decked front porch probably added; rear enclosed porch; oculus in gable end; rectangular two over two windows. Carriage house (43/23). John Ford lived in this house between c. 1880 and c. 1893. It was the home of Earl Cook, a physician, between c. 1913 and at least 1930. Ford came to Watertown in 1849 and worked for 16 years as a plasterer and mason. In 1873 he began a lumber business under the name Hamlin and Ford. This house has some historical interest as the home of John Ford, a lumber merchant. |
