NOTES
Additional Information:The history of this mill dates to 1849 when F. Whittaker built a mill. The mill changed hands several times. In 1880, the mill, then owned by George McLean was destroyed by fire. The oldest portion of the existing mill was built in 1881. McLean owned the mill until 1890 when it was bought by a Canadian and operated as the Rock River Woolen Mills. Throughout its history, it was one of the city's major industries.
