NOTES
Additional Information:This two-and-a-half story, frame Shingle Style house features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a stucco covered foundation, a clapboard and shingle exterior, a wood trim, and an asphalt covered gambrel roof. The residence, which is in good condition, was owned by William B. Bostwick in 1982. Related to this dwelling is a carriage barn. (See photo code RO 76/29, 123/35).

The C. B. Bostwick house was built in about 1915. (See Bib. Ref. A). It is architecturally significant in that it represents a type, period, or method of construction.

"Shingle Style features of this house include dormers with prominent horseshoe (or Moorish) arches and mullioned windows, and a combination of gambrel and gable roofs. Square-cut shingles were used, set in a wave pattern in some places." The Courthouse Hill Historic District: A Guide, Janesville Historic Commission, 1997.
