NOTES
Additional Information:Shed roofed north addition; wooden vehicular entrance.

An exceptionally well-preserved stable and storage building constructed for John Krueger before 1884, this two-story cream brick building located at the rear of Krueger's Grocery Store is characterized by a molded and corbelled brick cornice and segmental arched windows and door on the upper story as well as large segmental arched vehicular entrances with transom windows on the lower story.

The Krueger Stable has been altered by the filling in of some of the windows and by replacement doors. Multipaned lights remain in several windows. A shed roofed one-story extension is on the north elevation. This building was used as part of a marble works business in the late 19th century.

The well-preserved Krueger Stable and Storage Barn built in conjunction with the Krueger Grocery Store (62-22) is significant under criterion C as the best preserved stable (19th century) building in the proposed Main Street District and as an example of a vernacular brick architecture. Other extant stable or livery buildings in the proposed district include the stable now attached to the Commercial Hotel (63-3) at 115 So. 1st, the Frederick Livery at 200 So. 1st (63-5) and the Seefeldt Livery at 211 So. 3rd (60-21).
