NOTES
Additional Information:Between 1885 and at least 1930 this building housed the John Rogler tailor shop.

This building has some historical interest as the long-time location of the John Rogler tailor shop. It is not an individually historically significant business but it contributes to the overall development of commerce in the Main Street Commercial Historic District.

Built before 1884, probably as the Ernest Baumann residence, this combination residence and commercial building has a false front ornamented by a projecting denticulated cornice. Although retaining a small denticulated cornice across the storefront, the storefront has been altered extensively except for the placement of the entrance door and transom window. The building has been altered additionally by the application of modern siding to its wooden exterior surface. A two-story addition is located at the rear.

The former Ernst Baumann residence has been altered considerably over the years. Presently converted to retail use, this Italianate influenced building does not meet the criteria of the National Register. Also, this retail building covered by modern siding contributes to the historical character of the proposed Main Street Historic District.
