Bibliographic References: | Permit dated 6 January 1927; est. cost, $24,000. Owner cited on permit as Cumberland Forest Building Group with handwritten note that reads Herb Schmidt. The 1929 city directory cites the home as occupied by Herbert A. & Marie Schmid. As of the 1930 census, Herb and his wife Marlea (unclear if this is the same woman as in 1929) are living with Herb's parents but by 1932, the Schmids are living at 6113 Washington Boulevard, which they had designed for themselves (See AHI record for that house). This home's next known owners (1930 census; 1932 city directory) were Augustus and Nina Hall; Augustus was the incorporator of Hall Chevrolet in Milwaukee. |
