Madison Landmark built ca. 1961-1873 by Frederick Stang, a Bavarian immigrant and his family. In 1883 the family of Jacob Wirth purchased the house and significantly enlarged it using bricks from the Gertenbrei brickyard at the corner of E. Washington Ave. and North St. Map code from parcel book 0710-052-2204-8 common name William H. McCormick House. 1987- The home retains a high degree of integrity, including four segmentally ached windows, small leaded glass windows, decorative porch with spindled posts and frieze. |
