Additional Information: | The Heuers continued their grocery business until 1934. That year, August's son, William, diminished the interior space of the store by twelve feet when he added a partition that created two rooms and a bath. From 1936 until at least 1940, Seeger Bros., Inc., (a coal company), occupied the commercial level. For over fifty years, businesses ranging from clock shops to realty offices to grocery stores occupied the commercial area at various times; no one business lasted more than five years in the building. |
