Additional Information: | THE BUILDINGS IN THE PROPOSED HISTORIC BUILDINGS OF HUBBARD PARK NOMINATION WOULD INCLUDE THIS BUILDING, THE HUBBARD PARK LODGE, AND THE ICE SKATING PAVILION. The Shorewood Community Building at Hubbard Park was constructed in 1936 in a Rustic Style following a design by Wisconsin architect Henry Hengels. This 1-story building is rectangular in plan with limestone veneer exterior wainscoting, log walls, and an asphalt-shingled gable and flat roof structure. The gabled mass at the center features heavy braces under the gable which projects over two entry doors separated by a bank of four multi-pane double-hung windows. Windows on each side of the entry bay are single-pane sliding. A massive limestone chimney projects from the roof of the gabled mass. County Landmark. |
