Additional Information: | 2001 Architecture/History Survey for compliance case - Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps indicate that the building footprints on the city block have changed significantly over the past 100 years. In 1894,the block contained multiple frame and brick buildings owned by the Milwaukee Furniture Company. Sixteen years later, the are featured larger, frame buildings with brick veneer. The structures were owned by the Gueder, Paeschke & Frey Company and were utilized by the company's pickling department, for its tinware manufacturing, and for general storage. A 1910 Sanborn map with revisions made in 1943 and 1951 reveals a singular, large structure occupying the city block; the map denotes the building as a factory owned by Geuder, Paeschke & Frey. 2016 - Two-story block with pilasters and stone sills, and downsized windows in original openings; a one story block connects to adjacent building and runs under viaduct. **2020 - Resurveyed for I-94 Project 1060-27-04 by HRL: No apparent changes since at least 2017. |
