NOTES
Additional Information:A modest vernacular interpretation of the early 20th century Colonial Revival, this dark house features the roof dormerl box form and overhanging eaves, typical of the style. Classical details such as brick quoins, Palladian styled window in the front dormer and capped brick square columns on the full-length enclosed porch further characterize the house in Colonial Georgian Revival manner. Rectangular windows with brick lintels accented by white tiles on the lower story and sidelighted porch entrance with transom windows are additional features of this small house. Although important as an example of the Colonial Georgian Revival as interpreted in a small house probably constructed by a local builder, this house is not architecturally significant because there are better examples of the style in the city and the architectural integrity has been diminished somewhat. Better examples of the style are located at 408 S. Washington (54/27), 214 S. Washington (55/6) and 907 Clyman (43/33).
