Additional Information: | "Musky Point's former owner, T.J. Collins, apparently wasn't ready to retire when he sold that resort -- he started the Gateway Lodge in 1941. His location was a good one, but apparently not the one he wanted: in 1939 as the county was negotiating the purchase of what is now Lake of the Falls County Park, Collins obtained a deed to that property from the former owner. A legal squabble between Collins and the county followed, and in July of that years the county gave him this property for the piece under contention. In 1942, the resort had only one cabin, but by 1944, when it passed from a subsequent owner to Clarence and Adelene Lipp, it had two cabins. Clarence Lipp built the present main lodge in 1946."
