Additional Information: | Influenced by the Prairie School, this one-and-one-half story bungalow has a low pitch roof with bracketed, wide eaves and rests on a rock-faced concrete block foundation. A square bay window with brackets extends to the north facade. The residence has been sided with aluminum, windows are modern and an exterior staircase rests at the rear. Additional map code: 157/13 1996- "Influenced by the Prairie School style, this one-and-one-half story bungalow has a low-pitch hip roof with bracketed, wide eaves and rests on a rock-faced concrete block foundation. A square bay window with brackets extends from the north facade, and the remaining fenestration appears to be original. The residence has been sided with aluminum of different widths, no doubt in order to imitate both board and clapboard sheathing. In addition, a hip roof wall dormer breaks the roof line of the upper one-half story. A hip roof, open porch extends from the entrance facade, and an exterior staircase is located at the rear." - "La Crosse North/South Transportation Corridor", WisDOT ID #5991-04-00, Prepared by Heritage Research, Ltd. (1996). |
