NOTES
Additional Information:"This resort, this its excellent "rustic style" cabins and outbuildings, looks almost exactly like it did when it was built nearly 60 years ago. H.L. Boyington, member of one of Hurley's prominent families, built this resort in 1942. He started small, with 5 cabins, none of which had indoor plumbing. Within two years, his resort had doubled in size to 10 cabins, two of which had indoor baths. All of the cabins are made of cedar logs; the smaller buildings, including the outhouses, are made of log slabs toenailed together at the corners. Slab construction had many advantages for the resort owner: the slabs could be made quickly from lumber nearby, they required little of the careful fitting needed with notched logs, and the reinforced the "rustic" appearance that was part of the cabin resort's attraction.
