Additional Information: | A brick two story structure with a flat sloping roof that has a parapet decorated as a cornice. Simple non-decorative bands run across the cornice and above the recessed area, which has a pattern or projecting brick in the center, located above the store front. The store front has been filled in for contemporary use. Although Shullsbugr's residents claim this building to be as early as the 1850s, the age of the building remains questionable. This building is associated with the commercial development of Shullsburg. Michael Tierney ran a general store in the village for about 50 years, from the 1850s to about 1900. This building may have been built in the 1880s, when Shullsburg experienced a period of economic prosperity. |
