Additional Information:Horse watering trough from Grand Avenue constructed of rusticated stonework. Marker is in memory of John Hackett. Originally located in middle of intersection of Grand and Bluff. "In memory of John Hackett and honored citizen of Beloit, Wisconsin from 1836 to 1886." Donated by Mrs. Ella Adams of Chicago and presented to the city at the Opera House February 14, 1888.
