Additional Information:Large multi-storied red brick and stone industrial complex of several interconnected structures. Portion adjacent to river is three stories high, and is 30 window openings wide; portion to west rises higher; westernmost unit is single story stone. Massive chimney. The windows are round arched.

This may be the oldest structure still used for industrial purposes in Beloit. "The Beloit Box Board Company is the successor of a long line of paper manufacturers on the west side of the river extending back" to 1856. "Paper making machinery manufactured by the Beloit Iron Works is used by the company." (A) This machine is said to date to 1891-1892 and to be the oldest now in use in the U.S. (B).
