Based on review of Sanborn maps and city directories and including the 1884 assessor's date, it appears that this house was originally built at 1021 N. 6th Street and owned by Godfrey Stamm. The house was moved to its current location for the c1897 construction of the Frank Geele House. Geele married Stamm's daughter Mathilda. "Frank Geele Dies," The Sheboygan Press, 20 April 1920, p1. By 1895-96, the house was occupied by C.J. Rosenberg, after which it was owned by Dr. Otto J. and Jennie Gutsch. |
