Bibliographic References: | Assessor's records cite an 1850 date of construction. As of 1859, plat maps indicate that the property was owned by H. Bonhammer. Per additional information available on Ancestry.com, Bonhammer was supposed to be Bornheimer. Henry Bornheimer came to the United States with his wife Anna Maria (aka Mary, nee Stahl) in 1844 and they settled in New Berlin by no later than 1850 (per census, at which time they were enumerated as Bunkhammer). Henry died in 1866 and Mary and the remaining children at home moved to Milwaukee. Ancestry information cites that the property was sold to Philip Stahl; however, by 1873, the property was owned by H. Ulrich. |
