NOTES
Additional Information:STILTED SEGMENTAL ARCHED WINDOWSROUND WINDOW IN GABLE Previously surveyed in 1992; map code DOT 1/11 2023: The Zindar house is a two-story, front gable and wing, constructed of red brick with an L-shape plan. It was built ca. 1876. The house rests on a stone foundation. The brick is painted. The house is capped with an asphalt roof. The main roof line has a metal chimney vent, and the wing roof line has a smaller concrete block chimney. Previous photos show a porch running along the front façade of the wing of the house. The porch has a shed roof clad in asphalt shingles. The porch shelters the main entrance to the home. Since the last survey (2005) the porch is no longer visible due to overgrown foliage. A one story, brick addition with an asphalt roof is located on the rear (east) façade of the house. Regularly placed 1/1 windows are located on the first and second floors. The windows are set in wooden trim and feature a stone/brick lintel. In the center of the front facing gable is a round window that has been enclosed. The house was built ca. 1876 by J Zimdar who owned 130 acres. The property stayed in the family until at least the 1930’s but no later than the 1950’s.
