Additional Information: | CHICAGO STYLE WINDOWS 2007- This rectangular house has two stories and exhibits Prairie School influences. The walls are of frame construction and sheathed in stucco, with sections of decorative stone facing on the lower story corners. A large exterior chimney is located on the side elevation, and a second interior chimney is centrally located. The low-pitch, hip roof has a shed roof dormer on the south elevation. The windows in the dormer appear to be modern replacements. Windows are arranged in bands of several tall, narrow lights on the first story and larger plate glass windows flanked by narrow, one-over-one sidelights on the second story. Several flat pent roofs project over the first story windows and entry bays. A garage is attached to the north elevation and has a second story addition. The original garage door has been replaced by patio doors. 2024: This two-story Prairie School house was constructed in 1928. It is rectangular in plan with stucco walls and a low-pitched, asphalt-shingled hipped roof with widely overhanging eaves. The front elevation faces west and is asymmetrical in composition with an exterior chimney wall spanning the height of the building and projecting through the front roof slope at the north end of the façade. South of this is a series of six tall, narrow windows sheltered under a flat-roofed canopy. The front door is located south of this and is sheltered under a separate flat-roofed canopy; the wall surrounding the front door is clad in stone veneer. The second story contains a picture window flanked by narrow one-over-one windows (all of which appear to be later replacements) and a vertically-oriented glass-block window. A large shed-roofed dormer projects from the southern roof slope. A two-story, shed-roofed garage bay projects from the northeast corner of the building; the original garage doors in its west façade have been replaced with sliding glass doors and second story windows above this are replacement sliding windows. |
