Additional Information: | 2017 The Lowe House is a one-story, rectangular plan Italianate residence constructed c.1880. The walls are clad in cream brick and rest on a fieldstone foundation. Asphalt shingles cover the hip roof, which features a small central cross gable on the front (north) facade, wide frieze boards decorated with paired brackets, and an interior brick chimney on the side (west) slope. A gable portico with square wood columns and decorative scrollwork is centrally located on the front (north) façade, and replaces a full-width front porch visible in a c.1900 photograph of the property. (1) Windows are two-over-two, double-hung sash; replacement one-over-one, double-hung sash; and replacement six-over-six, double-hung sash. Two sheds are located to the west of the house. Both rest on concrete foundations, are clad in wood siding, and have gable roofs covered in asphalt shingles. |
