The Luetzow Building was constructed in 1895 as a tied house for the Miller Brewing Company, affiliated with the products of the brewery and prominently displaying the affiliation in its architecture. Located opposite the rival Pabst affiliated Jacobus Saloon, the upper floors of the Luetzow Building also served as a Knights of Pythias Hall. The building had an addition constructed in 1913, and the saloon in the building closed in 1920 due to prohibition. The Luetzow Building was significantly remodeled in 1977.
