It was originally built by Thomas Hart in 1848 and known as the United States House. Two other sections were moved- one to 905 8th Ave. In 1890 it was brick veneered, with brick from Frieze Brick yard. The Maurers bought the home in 1938, when it was partially remodeled into a duplex. The wood work was torn out and was replastered. |
