HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Nathanial B. Treat was part of a family that helped develop Monroe, arriving in the area ca 1858. He was later a captain in the Union Armay under General Sherman, a State Assemblyman, as well as a prominant local business man--being a parner with Ezra Parker Treat in a mercantile business (Treats Block). |
