Upper windows are flanked with flat brick pilasters. The gable ends are supported by similar pilasters. Intricate etched designs in upper sections of the pointed windows. Entrance porch has a post with beautifully carved console type brackets and capitol. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: A unique and unusual design built during Monroe's busiest decade of settlement by O.D. Moulton a merchant and land developer. Moulton also became part-owner of the newspaper the "Sentinel" in 1851. |
