NOTES
Additional Information:ROUND ARCHED WINDOWS AND DOOR. The Black Eagle Oil Co. operated this gas station from 1929 through 1952 when it was purchased by Phillips Petroleum.

2017 survey information:
Sheathed with stucco and exhibiting modest Spanish Colonial Revival styling, this one-story service station is comprised of an office wing and a three-bay, service wing, both of which were constructed at the same time. Round-arched windows define the office wing along its entrance elevation, while red barrel tile covers a pent that tops the three garage bays.

This service station was originally built in 1929 for the Black Eagle Oil Company, which had established itself in Milwaukee just two years prior. In 1952, the station, along with nine other Black Eagle stations, was sold to the Phillips Petroleum Company. The station was, thereafter, owned by the Phillips company, during which time it was operated by at least two different proprietors, the last of whom was Joe Schmid, Jr. (from circa 1955 to 1971). In 1972, the building was sold to Melbourne Adams, who operated a glass and carpentry repair shop from the building. Adams continues to own the building.
