PORCH W/BALCONY ABOVE. 2022 - This Greek Revival building was constructed in 1848. This three-story building faces south, with a side-gabled, asphalt-shingled roof with returned eaves, fieldstone foundation, and wooden clapboard siding. A series of additions has been constructed to the rear (north end) of the original building mass. The primary elevation is asymmetrically arranged, with the main entrance located left of center, consisting of a glazed and paneled doorway flanked by sidelights. Two other doorways are located at the east and west ends of the primary façade, with six-over-six double hung windows spaced evenly in between them. A flat-roofed portico spans the entire first story, supported by squared wooden columns with simple bases and entablature atop a wooden decking. A balustrade atop the roof provides a walk-out porch for the second floor above. The second story contains a central multi-light doorway with two six-over-six double hung windows on each side. While windows on the first story appear to be vinyl replacements, the windows on the second story appear to be wooden originals. All windows are flanked by modern, non-operable shutters. A wide cornice is located above the second story, with the small, shuttered windows of the third story cut into the cornice band. Two brick chimneys are found at the east and west ends of the original building mass. |
