NOTES
Additional Information:This 2-story Italianate commercial building was constructed in 1888 as the Urban House hotel. It is rectangular in plan with brick walls and a flat roof. The building is located on a corner lot with the primary elevations facing east and north. The front entrance is located in the cutaway northeast corner; a segmentally arched brick crown notes the original doorway, although this area has been infilled with brick to accommodate a modern, downsized door. Similar alterations to the fenestration occur along the first story of the east elevation. The first and second stories are separated by a corbelled drip course with a similarly modeled cornice above the second story. Second-story window openings are capped by round-arched brick crowns; the windows at the second story have been downsized and are currently 1-over-1 with opaque panels above. A vinyl cap has been placed along the edge of the roof, just above the cornice.
Bibliographic References:See plaque on building's east elevation.
