Local History Mini-Grants

Funding Available for Wisconsin Historical Society Affiliates

Do you have a collections care or management project that needs funding support? Each spring, affiliates can apply for grants up to $700 for projects and activities that support collections care and management.

Eligibility

All organizations affiliated with the Wisconsin Historical Society, regardless of location, membership level, or budget size, are invited to apply. Affiliates must be in good standing and current in filing an annual report with the Wisconsin Historical Society to be eligible.

2025 Mini-Grant Recipients

The Wisconsin Historical Society and Wisconsin Council for Local History are pleased to announce that 19 affiliated local historical societies received a total of $9,368.21 through the 2025 mini-grant program.

Recipients of the 2025 mini-grant were:
America's Black Holocaust Museum, Bayfield Heritage Association, Chippewa County Historical Society, Cudahy Historical Society, Dane County Historical Society, Dodge County Historical Society, Eagle River Historical Society, Friends of RD Pike Building, Gordon-Wascott Historical Society, Hudson Area History Connection, Luxembourg American Cultural Society, Monticello Area Historical Society, Oconto County Historical Society, Old Franklin Township Historical Society, Polk County Historical Society, Prairie du Chien Historical Society, Princeton Historical Society, Racine Heritage Museum, and Taliesin Preservation, Inc.

Annual Report Filing

To maintain affiliate status, local history affiliates must submit an annual report. After January 1 of each year, local history affiliates can access the previous year's annual report filing system online.
