Nixon at Ease

Image

An undated photograph of Richard Nixon dating from his early career. The photograph was taken by Washington, D.C. reporter Merriman Smith, and it is part of a roll that shows Nixon with a very small group, young children enjoying amusement rides, and a baseball diamond. It is possible that Nixon's daughters are among the children. Although Nixon did sign some autographs, it is unlikely that a political event was taking place.
