Chief Warrant Officer Sam Gubner Retires

Chief Warrant Officer Sam Gubner (center) and Col. Frederick Nelander, Truax Field commander, return the salute of Maj. John Pedigo (left), commander of the 432nd Fighter Interceptor Squadron, the unit to which Grubner was assigned when discharged. A native of Hungary, the 47-year-old Gubner became a naturalized American and joined the Army in 1924.
