Events leading up to the merger of the Amalgamated Meatcutters and the United Packinghouse Workers unions included this appearance by Patrick Gorman of the Meatcutters at the UPWA national convention. Ralph Helstein of the UPWA made a similar appearance at a Meatcutters convention one week earlier.
