Bartholomay House

A front view of the "cottage" built on the Black Point Estate in 1905 by Catherine Orb Seipp, the widow of Chicago brewer Conrad Seipp who had built their summer home there in 1888. The two and one half story wood frame house has multiple porches on each level and dormers with curved roofs. Mrs. Seipp used this newer house, which had central heating, to extend her stays at Black Point earlier in spring and later in the fall. It also accommodated her large and growing family and was later owned by her daughter Clara and husband Henry Bartholomay, Jr.
