Sixth plate ambrotype of a painting of Captain Samuel Murphy. Murphy served with Captain Samuel Brady in the Pittsburgh region during the Revolutionary War. He lived and died near Freeport, Pennsylvania. The portrait is a front facing bust figure, turned slightly to the right. Hand-coloring on cheeks.
