Juliusspital Apotheke

The palace-like Juliusspital was founded in 1576 by Prince Bishop Julius Echter as a refuge for the sick and the poor. The Rococo apothecary (reproduction pictured) was added in 1699. This, and other such institutions, turned to wine-making to raise extra income. The Juliuspittal is now Germany's third largest winery.
