They are surrounded by trees, flowers and foliage. The woman is wearing a dress and has flowers in her hair. The outside of the central image has an ornate border filled with foliage and flourishes. A verse above reads: "If souls always dwell above, Thou ne'er had'st left thy sphere: Or, could we keep the souls we love, I ne'er should love thee here." And verse below reads: "The many a gifted mind I meet, Tho' fairest forms I see, To love with them is far less sweet, Than to remember thee." Center image is engraved in black, then hand tinted. The border is engraved in gold ink.
