Dock Workers Prepare International Truck Engines for Shipment

Image

Factory workers preparing completed International truck engines for shipment at International Harvester's Indianapolis Motor Truck Engine Works. Original caption reads: "A typical scene on the loading dock where the finished engines are removed from the power conveyor and loaded into freight cars or trucks for transportation to International truck plants. The conveyor is a continuous chain traveling from the assembly line, through the engine test room, then through the paint booths, and from there to the loading dock. The engines shown here represent the finished products which began as rough parts for their journey through the machine lines, inspection departments, assembly lines, engine test department, and paint booth and are now ready to be assembled to the truck chassis."
