Harry O. Bercher

Portrait of Harry O. Bercher (1906-1997), International Harvester executive. Bercher began working for IH in 1928. In 1945 he became General Manager of the Wisconsin Steel Division of IH. He was elected Vice President of the company in 1953, and became a member of the Board of Directors in 1957. He became Executive Vice President in 1956, and President and Chief Executive Officer on September 1, 1962. He was elected Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of IH on July 18, 1968. He retired from IH in 1971.
