Volleyball Match Outside Deering Works and Twine Mill

Employees of International Harvester's Deering Works take a break from a volleyball match outside the factory. The match pitted workers from the twine mill against those from the main office. Final score: twine mill 52, main office 27. The Deering Works was originally built by William Deering for the Deering Harvester Company in 1880. In 1902 it became International Harvester's Deering Works. The factory was located at Fullerton and Clybourn Avenues and closed in 1933.
