A man drives an International L-170 truck owned by Tal-Wi-Wi Ranches down a dirt road past grapefruit trees. The original caption reads, "The recently purchased International L-170 motor truck shown herewith serves as a general purpose hauling unit on the 1125 acre Tal-Wi-Wi ranch near Phoenix, Arizona. This ranch, owned by Colonel Dale Bumstead, and established in 1926, has become famed not only for its production of fruit (grapes, citrus, and dates) but also for its herd of 300 head of registered Herefords. With 15-foot stock rack, the truck serves as a convenient cattle hauling unit. It is also regularly used to haul cases of fruit packed at a plant located on the ranch to a nearby railroad siding. In the illustrations the truck is first shown with its load of cased grapefruit going down a lane on the ranch beside a grapefruit grove and next at the railroad siding. Five motor trucks serve the Tal-Wi-Wi ranch. Four of these are Internationals. Some 120-acres of the ranch are in grapefruit and oranges; 260 acres in grapes (Thompson seedless and Cardinal varieties); 35 acres in dates; and the rest in Alfalfa and grain. Tal-Wi-Wi is a Hopi Indian name meaning "the fertile land the sun first shines upon." Mailing address of the ranch is Peoria, Arizona."
