"The West" statue at the first floor southwest entrance the Wisconsin State Capitol. Vinnie Ream Hoxie modeled this statue in 1866-1868. It was carved in Rome and exhibited at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Her gowns were blown by the prairie winds.
