Accessing Collections
The vast majority of the items in our collections are not online. The Society owns thousands of archival collections viewable in our Archives reading room. To view and conduct research in our collections, visit us in person.
Budahn Barn-Exterior of Second Barn

The Budahns, with their dog Dexter, pose in front of another barn on their property. The last time cows were milked here was in 1988.
Hoepner Barn — Exterior

The Hoepners moved here in April 1967. The last time cows were milked here was in 1966.
Nickel Barn — Alternate View

This barn on the Nickel farm was built in 1919 by Ed Radke. The Nickels are still milking 50 cows.
Herbst Barn — Exterior

Bob and Joan Herbst, at N8560 Hwy 175 (Section 15), have lived here for 6.5 years.
Lifke Farm Complex

The Arnold and Bernice Lifke farm is located on a high hill at W1749 McArthur Road (Section 20).
Christian Barn — Exterior
2004
Richard and Gayle Christian live at W1624 Allen Rd (Section 21). This barn was built in 1914, and they are still milking.
