McCarthy Defeats La Follette

Joseph R. McCarthy opens congratulatory telegrams after his primary election victory over Senator Robert M. La Follette, Jr., a victory which ended the La Follette's hold on the Wisconsin Senate seat since 1906. McCarthy is pictured in his office as circuit court judge.
