MGM Trackless Train

The Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer "Trackless Train" parked in front of the Hotel Loraine on West Washington Avenue. The YMCA can be seen on the right. The "Trackless Train" was on a tour from New York to Los Angeles to promote "Good Roads and Good Movies." Also, they promoted the development of a national highway system as advocated by Herbert Hoover, who was, at that time, the 3rd United States Secretary of Commerce.
