Waist-up oval studio portrait of Edwin Hadley, a corporal in Company E, 15th Wisconsin, in uniform. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Perry, Wisconsin. On January 11, 1862, he enlisted in Dane County, Wisconsin and was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin on May 5, 1862, at the age of 19. In December 1862, he was detached briefly to serve as a Provost-Guard. He was killed in action from a gunshot in the head at Altoona Mountain, near New Hope Church, Georgia on May 27, 1864.
