Quarter-length oval studio portrait of Peter A. Myhre, a private in Company I, 15th Wisconsin Infantry. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in St. Laurence, Wisconsin. On November 16, 1861, he enlisted in Scandinavia, WI and on the same date he was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 24. From October through December 1863, he was detached to the 6th Ohio Battery. On May 27, 1864, he was slightly wounded in the head at a battle near New Hope Church, Georgia. He was mustered out with Company I on February 10, 1865, at Chattanooga, Tennessee.
