Carte des lacs du Canada

Map

This is an important early map of the Great Lakes. On it can be found the first appearances of several ports as well as some imaginary islands in Lake Superior that were copied onto subsequent maps for many years. The map was compiled from Chaussegros de Lery's Histoire et description generale de la Nouvelle France. Lery's manuscript was one of the most important works on North America from its time.
